Rate Multiplier
A figure set annually by the Government that is used to calculate a rates bill. Each figure is effective from 1 April. The multiplier changes annually to take account of inflation.
For 2005/2006 the Rates Multiplier is 0.422 and the Small Business Multiplier is 0.415.
As an example, if your Rateable Value is £100,000 you would multiply this by 0.422 to give a liability of £42,200.
