The catches with flexible serviced offices

Serviced offices sound almost too good to be true. The catch is the increased monthly cost which can make serviced offices uneconomical over longer periods of time. All the operational costs do need to be assessed carefully to see where a break even point lies if you are considering traditional versus serviced offices.

Other concerns that need to be considered are that a company will have little or no presence within a building. This is less important if there are few visitors to the office and needs to be weighed against the possibility of being located in a better overall building.

By their very nature, serviced offices may give rise to a concern over lack of permanence of a company based in a serviced office as licenses allow occupiers to move on with short notice. That said there are many occupiers who have been in flexible offices for many years.

There is less choice of serviced office buildings with usually only two or three suppliers in a town or city. If neither of these provide what you are looking for (or have any available space) then the traditional office route may be the only option.
