How much office space

Whilst there are no legal standards for how much space a workstation requires, there are some useful benchmark figures.Here are some guidelines as to the space you should be allowing when searching for office accommodation:

Large Meeting Room (6 – 8 People) 20 sq.m (215 sq.ft)

Small meeting room (4 people) 13.5 sq.m (145 sq.ft)

Director’s Office 16 sq.m (175 sq.ft)

Manager’s Workstation 9.3 sq.m (100 sq.ft)

Open plan workstations 7 sq.m (75 sq.ft)

On top of this you may need to add training and board rooms, kitchens, reception, storage and comms rooms. The following is a guide to the areas required for each of these elements:

Board room / training room 70 sq.m (750 sq.ft)

Reception 35 sq.m (375 sq.ft)

Comms Room 18.5 sq.m (200 sq.ft)

Kitchen 45 sq.m (485 sq.ft)

Post Room 12 sq.m (130 sq.ft)

Archive Storage 45 sq.m (485 sq.ft)
