Forming a New UK Company

The procedure for forming a UK company is mainly procedural and involves completing two forms and providing various required documentation for Companies House. A new company must prepare a Memorandum of Association which will include details of its constitution including its name, the registered office and the objectives of the company (which can be as general as carrying on business as a general commercial company).

Articles of Association are also required. These set out the rules for the running the company's internal affairs.

There are various company registration agents that will provide all the required information including the above as well as completing the necessary paperwork. They can have your new company registered in about 5 days.

Alternatively ‘shelf companies’ are available. These are companies that have already been created and are ready to trade, so avoiding the 5 day wait. You can change the name to suit your business.
